The main benefit of predator is that it means that SkyNet will be open source. On the downside, it looks like SkyNet will be very robust and difficult to stop.

Even if it can measure 50,000 degrees/s, that means that 1 degree/s results in a difference of 50uV, since it is a 5V chip (voltage bias would be at 2.5V, thus 2.5/50000=.00005). So you better be measuring something with an extreme rotational rate and not care about the little changes.
I wonder if they are intending it as a wheel encoder for cars/trucks. You could mount it inside the hubcap along with the tire pressure sensor and relay the data back via zigbee or something.
